Some emails are more important than others. As such, they should be given priority and you may want to be notified sooner of the email than the next time you have time to sit down to check it with the flood of all the others. Set up forwarding so that an email from your principal or boss comes straight to your phone as well. It isn’t a perfect system, and you can’t always read the full email in the text, but you at least know about the email and the subject when it comes to you. Here are the steps:
1) From within First Class, in the top menu, select ‘Collaborate’ > ‘Rules…’
2) Click the button called New Advanced Rule. Give it a name, maybe “From Boss to Cell” or something. Under ‘If’ select ‘The sender’ from the drop down and type your boss’s name:

3) Under ‘Then’ select ‘Forward‘ in the drop down and type the email of your phone number (all 10 digits) in the box — your phone number email depends on your service. Mine is Verizon; see others below:
–AT&T: ##########@txt.att.net
–Cingular: ##########@cingularme.com
–Nextel: ##########@messaging.nextel.com
–Sprint: ##########@messaging.sprintpcs.com
–T-Mobile: ##########@tmomail.net
–Verizon: ##########@vtext.com
–Virgin: ##########@vmobl.com

5) Click save, all done!
